The Navrongo Health Research Centre (NHRC) is seeking to recruit a qualified and motivated Pharmacist to support its clinical and research activities.

Role Summary

The Pharmacist will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and compliant management of medicines and pharmaceutical services for NHRC’s clinical, research, and community health programs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Dispense medications accurately and in accordance with prescriptions and research protocols
• Provide drug information and counseling to patients, staff, and research participants
• Manage procurement, storage, and inventory of medicines and medical supplies
• Ensure proper documentation of pharmaceutical records and reports
• Monitor drug safety, adverse reactions, and pharmacovigilance activities
• Support clinical trials and research studies involving investigational products
• Ensure compliance with Ghana Health Service, Pharmacy Council, and FDA regulations
• Participate in health education and community outreach programs
• Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and researchers on patient care
• Maintain quality assurance and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must:

• Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from a recognized institution
• Be fully registered with the Pharmacy Council of Ghana and possess a valid practicing license
• Have completed mandatory housemanship
• Have at least 3 – 5 years of professional experience (research/clinical experience is an advantage)
• Demonstrate good knowledge of drug management and regulatory standards
• Be computer literate (MS Office, pharmacy systems, data reporting tools)
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be willing to work in a research and community-based health environment
