The Navrongo Health Research Centre on the 14th of January 2024 held its Annual Thanksgiving Service to express appreciation to God for the immense blessings to the Centre over the past year 2023.
The event which was held on the theme, “The Lord Has Done Great Things For Us” from Psalm 126:3 took place at the NHRC Tennis court and brought together management and staff of NHRC as well as various religious leaders from various churches in the Navrongo Municipality to give thanks and seek divine guidance for the upcoming year 2024.
The thanksgiving service marked by a spirit of gratitude and worship, began with an opening prayer setting the tone for the event. The Director of NHRC, Dr. Patrick Ansah delivered a warm welcome address, expressing gratitude for the past year’s achievements and emphasizing the significance of unity and thanksgiving. “I think life as a whole is a continuous praise and thanks unto God because if not for him, where will we have been?” He continued saying, “as an institution, last year was very good. The previous year was great and it has been persistent which means God has a lot in store for us” so there is the need to give thanks.
The Praises and Worship session was led by Melodies Exalted from the Fountain Gate Chapel International Church Navrongo ushering in an atmosphere of reverence and celebration for the Scripture readings from Psalm 124:1-8 and Exodus 15:1-6 which highlighted the themes of trust and deliverance, resonating with the overall spirit of thanksgiving.
During the event, various intercessory prayers were said creating a moment of solemn reflection and supplication. Invited pastors from the various churches took turns to lead thanksgiving and prayer sessions for the Centre. Notable thanksgiving and prayers said for the Centre included, thanksgiving for the past year and committing this year into God’s hands, thanksgiving for journey mercies during the working year and the holidays, prayers for the management and leadership of NHRC, prayers for peace, Love and Unity among staff of NHRC and prayers for prospects for the institution and projects. Other intercessory prayers worth mentioning are prayers for the peace of the nation and good governance and leadership.
As the event drew to a close, Pastor Larbi Kwame-Stephen led the Closing Prayer, offering a final moment of reflection and communion. Reverend Stephen Antwi from the Methodist Church delivered the Benediction, sending attendees forth with blessings for the year ahead.
The NHRC Annual Thanksgiving Service was attended by a distinguished list of pastors, including a representative for Reverend Fortunatus Agulu, Pastor Clement Anaba, Pastor Mark Yaw Agyeman, Pastor Emmanuel Adiga, Pastor Larbi Kwame-Stephen, Reverend Stephen Antwi, Bishop Dennis Djamgbletey, Pastor Eric Asante and Pastor Moses Batutar. Choirs present included Melodies, Minister Philip Markwo, and the Saint Cecilia Choir.
The event was not only a celebration of thanksgiving but also a demonstration of unity among people of different faiths, coming together to acknowledge the Lord’s goodness and seek His continued guidance for the Navrongo Health Research Centre and the nation at large.
