NHRC STAFF ATTEND ASTMH 2023 ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN CHICAGO

The Navrongo Health Research Centre (NHRC) team on the 18th -22nd of October, 2023 made a significant representation at the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene 2023 Annual Meeting (ASTMH 2023), which took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, Illinois in the USA.

This annual conference, known as the largest global gathering of scientists, researchers, funding agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and industrial establishments involved in the manufacture of diagnostics kits and medical equipment tropical medicine and hygiene and global application, is a platform of innovation and knowledge sharing.

With its annual occurrence, the event draws participants from all over the world, all converging to showcase cutting-edge innovations in research and advancement in scientific discoveries.

The event includes plenary sessions in which leading experts deliver presentations to a captive audience, followed by interactive question-and-answer sessions. At this year’s ASTMH 2023, the NHRC team and their collaborators presented a total of 7 poster presentations and 2 oral presentations, demonstrating their invaluable contribution to the advancement of tropical medicine and hygiene.

Beyond the exchange of knowledge and the presentation of groundbreaking research, ASTMH 2023 serves as a platform for forging connections and fostering mentorship opportunities within the scientific community. Also courses in a selected topics in tropical medicine are organized and participants gain continuous professional development (CPD) credits as well as certification.
