Navrongo Health Research Centre (NHRC) is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to join our team and contribute to promoting community well-being through research and evidence-based interventions.

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing mental health research and interventions within our community-based projects. As a Clinical Psychologist at NHRC, you will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and make a meaningful impact on mental health in the region.

Roles and Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis:
• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments of individuals across the lifespan.
• Formulate accurate clinical diagnoses based on assessment findings.

Therapeutic Interventions:
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals, families, and groups.
• Implement psychotherapeutic techniques to address a range of mental health issues.

Community Engagement:
• Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to understand and address mental health needs within the population.
• Develop and implement community-based mental health programs.

Research Collaboration:
• Participate in research activities, including data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of mental health research projects.

Training and Capacity Building:
• Provide training to community health workers and other professionals on mental health awareness and basic counseling skills.
• Contribute to the development of educational materials for community and professional audiences.

Crisis Intervention:
• Provide crisis intervention and support for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.
• Collaborate with emergency services and other relevant agencies as needed.

Qualifications
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or MPhil in Psychology from a recognized institution.
• Valid license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist.
• A minimum of 5 years working experience with a research institution or related career in conducting research.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
